Description
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
There are journeys we dream of all our lives but are unable to complete. For many, Hajj is that journey — a sacred pillar of Islam, a calling of the heart, yet for some it remains unfulfilled. Perhaps your father longed to go but was too weak. Perhaps your mother had the intention but returned to Allah before fulfilling it. Or perhaps you know someone who simply cannot make the journey anymore. But Allah, in His Mercy, has left a door open — Hajj Badal.
A woman once came to the Prophet ﷺ and said her father was too old to perform Hajj.
The Companion Abdullah ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ replied:
“Perform Hajj on his behalf.”
— Reported in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim
In another narration, when a woman asked about her deceased mother, the Prophet ﷺ said:
“If your mother had a debt, would you repay it? Then the debt owed to Allah has more right to be fulfilled.”
This is not merely a permission but a responsibility recognised by scholars across generations. Imam al-Nawawi explains that if a person is permanently unable due to illness or old age, it becomes obligatory for Hajj to be performed on their behalf. Ibn Taymiyyah emphasises that the one performing Hajj must have already completed their own Hajj, ensuring sincerity and understanding, while Ibn Qudamah clarifies that this applies to those with no hope of recovery. Across the schools of thought, one principle remains clear — Hajj is a debt owed to Allah and it deserves to be fulfilled.
This is more than a ritual. It fulfills a pillar of Islam for someone who could not, brings peace to families who carry that concern, becomes a lasting reward for the one on whose behalf it is done, and stands as an act of love, devotion, and remembrance. Imagine meeting your loved one in the Hereafter and knowing you helped complete their obligation to Allah.
We understand the weight of this amanah. That is why our Hajj Badal services are carried out by experienced pilgrims who have already completed their own Hajj, with clear and dedicated niyyah for each individual, strict adherence to Shariah guidelines, and full transparency so you are assured every step is fulfilled. This is not just a service — this is an amanah.
It is meant for parents who were unable to perform Hajj, loved ones who have passed away, individuals who are permanently ill or physically unable, and those who wish to fulfill a vow.
One day, we too may be unable to go, and we will hope that someone remembers us and fulfills this journey on our behalf. Today, you can be that someone.
Fulfill this amanah today. Let this obligation be completed, and let this journey reach Allah سبحانه وتعالى. As Allah says in the Qur’an, “And complete the Hajj and ‘Umrah for Allah” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:196).
